A View From the Bridge Tickets & Off-Broadway Guide

Yes, this is the Sam Rockwell one, the A View From the Bridge NYC theater fans have been talking about since July. He plays Eddie Carbone, the Brooklyn longshoreman at the center of Miller’s tragedy, in a production that puts a film star, two Tony-nominated stage veterans and a top-tier director into a room with fewer than 300 seats. That combination is the whole story when it comes to tickets: small house, big names, fixed 13-week window.

This guide covers what you actually need before you buy: how A View From the Bridge tickets are selling, when to book, how to pay less without getting burned, the full schedule, the cast, and how to plan a night in the East Village around the show. One thing to clear up first: it’s Off-Broadway, not on Broadway. More on that below.

A View From the Bridge Tickets

⚓

A View From the Bridge: Broadway or Off-Broadway? This production is Off-Broadway at La MaMa in the East Village, not in a Broadway theater, and it’s a play, not a musical. If a listing shows a Times Square theater or a different cast, it isn’t this show.

A View From the Bridge tickets are on sale now for the full run, November 27, 2026 through February 27, 2027. With only 299 seats a night and a fixed closing date, there simply isn’t much inventory to go around, and availability isn’t even across the run. When we looked, the production’s own calendar was flagging some performances as “Selling Fast” and steering buyers toward dates from late December onward for the best choice of seats.

What that means in practice:

  • Fixed date, specific seats? Book sooner. In a house this size, the good seats on popular nights go first.
  • Flexible? Compare several performances side by side. Prices and seat choice can look very different from one night to the next.
  • Buying four? That’s the cap. The production limits orders to four tickets per customer.
  • Not sure about your date? Hold off until you are. All sales are final, with no refunds or exchanges.

Our ticket finder below shows current availability by date. Before you check out, compare the price against face value so you know what you’re paying for.

02 · Timing

When Should You Buy A View From the Bridge Tickets?

There’s no perfect moment, but there are clear trade-offs. Here’s how the 13 weeks break down for a buyer.

Nov 27 – Dec 12

Previews

The show is running but hasn’t officially opened, and no reviews are out yet. If you’d rather see it before the critics weigh in, this is your window. Some early dates may also have better seat choice than mid-December.

Dec 13 onward

Opening & reviews

Reviews land right after opening night. Strong notices for a star-led play in a small room can tighten availability quickly. Weaker ones can loosen it. Either way, demand often shifts that week.

Late December

Holiday weeks

Visitors flood the city and plenty of New Yorkers are off work, so holiday performances can behave differently from an ordinary weeknight. If you’re coming for the holidays, don’t leave this to the last minute.

January – February

Deep winter

Often the most flexible stretch of any winter run, with more midweek choice. The catch: the closing date doesn’t move, so the final weeks carry real sell-out risk as latecomers realize the run is ending.

Bottom line: if Sam Rockwell is the reason you’re going and your dates are fixed, buy now. If you can flex, compare a handful of midweek performances before committing. See our guide to when to buy theater tickets for the bigger picture.

03 · Saving Money

Cheap & Discount A View From the Bridge Tickets

Let’s be straight about it: this isn’t a show built for bargain hunting. It’s a star vehicle in a 299-seat house with a hard closing date. As of October 8, 2026, the production had not announced a rush, lottery, student rate or any other official discount program. If one is announced, we’ll add it here. Until then, these are the moves that actually work.

What works

  • Compare multiple dates. One performance is not the market. Check five before you decide.
  • Go midweek. Tuesday through Thursday evenings usually draw less demand than Friday and Saturday.
  • Avoid the obvious crunch dates. Opening week, the holiday stretch and the final weeks tend to be the most competitive.
  • Weigh seat, not just price. In a room this intimate, a cheaper seat may still be a good one. Compare location and price together.
  • Check face value first. Know the official price before you look at resale, so a markup doesn’t surprise you.

What to skip

  • “Rush” or “lottery” claims. Neither exists for this production yet. Treat any site offering one with suspicion.
  • Promo codes from random sites. None have been officially released.
  • Assuming TKTS will have it. TDF lists the show, but when we checked there was no discounted price posted. Don’t build your trip around a booth discount that may never appear.
  • Panic-buying a huge markup. If one listing looks wildly high, check other dates before paying it.

For how rush and lottery programs work across the city, and which shows actually offer them, see our rush and lottery guide.

04 · Prices

How Much Are A View From the Bridge Tickets?

$119 – $499
Full-price range listed by TDF, checked October 8, 2026

That’s a wide spread, and it’s normal for a star-led limited run. What you’ll pay for a specific A View From the Bridge ticket depends on:

The dateEvening vs matineeWhere you sitDemand that weekSeats leftBox office vs resale

Resale prices aren’t capped and move with demand, so they can sit well above face value on popular nights. Prices will change over the run, so treat the range above as a snapshot, not a promise.

A View From the Bridge Schedule & Performance Dates

First previewFri, Nov 27, 2026
Opening nightSun, Dec 13, 2026
Final performanceSat, Feb 27, 2027

The A View From the Bridge New York run is a strictly limited 13-week engagement. Curtain times vary by date: the early calendar shows mostly 7:30 PM evening performances with select matinees, and the production’s schedule also lists 2:00, 3:00 and 7:00 PM curtains on certain dates. Don’t assume one time for the whole run. Check the exact performance you’re booking.

Matinees are worth a look if you want an easy dinner afterward or you’re heading back to Midtown or out of town the same night. Our matinee guide covers the trade-offs.

06 · Company

A View From the Bridge Cast

Three names were announced to lead the company, with roles confirmed by Playbill. Casting for Catherine, Marco and Rodolpho hadn’t been announced when we checked, and we’ll add them once it is.

as Eddie Carbone

A View From the Bridge: Sam Rockwell as Eddie

Rockwell is the reason most people are searching for this production, and the role suits him. Eddie is a decent, hardworking man who can’t see what’s happening inside himself until it’s too late. It’s one of the great American stage parts, and it needs an actor who can be likable and frightening at the same time. That’s been Rockwell’s specialty for decades, from his Oscar-winning turn in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri to his Broadway work in Fool for Love, True West and American Buffalo. He’s also a producer on this revival, which tells you how much he wanted it.

as Beatrice

Marin Ireland

Tony-nominated for reasons to be pretty and one of New York’s most trusted stage actors. Beatrice is the one person in the house who sees exactly what’s happening to Eddie, which makes her the play’s emotional anchor.

as Alfieri

Alfred Molina

A three-time Tony nominee (Art, Fiddler on the Roof, Red). Alfieri is the neighborhood lawyer who narrates the story and watches it unfold, a part that needs exactly his kind of warmth and authority.

Director

Neil Pepe

Longtime artistic director of the Atlantic Theater Company, and the director who staged Rockwell in the 2022 Broadway revival of American Buffalo. This is a reunion.

Creative team: scenic design by Scott Pask, costumes by Sarah Laux, lighting by John Torres, sound by Palmer Hefferan. Casting by Taylor Williams.

07 · Clearing It Up

Is A View From the Bridge on Broadway?

No. This production is Off-Broadway, at the Ellen Stewart Theatre at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in the East Village.

The confusion makes sense. A View From the Bridge has played Broadway several times since it premiered there in 1955, most recently in Ivo van Hove’s stripped-down 2015 revival. So when a cast like this one is announced, a lot of people assume it’s headed to a Times Square house.

It isn’t, and that’s part of the appeal. Broadway theaters seat at least 500 people, and the big musical houses hold well over 1,000. This one seats 299. Off-Broadway is a matter of house size, not quality, and here it means you’ll be unusually close to the actors. Our Broadway vs Off-Broadway guide explains the difference.

08 · The Story

What Is Arthur Miller’s A View From the Bridge About?

Eddie Carbone works the docks in 1950s Red Hook, Brooklyn, and lives with his wife Beatrice and her niece Catherine, whom they’ve raised since she was a child. When Beatrice’s cousins Marco and Rodolpho arrive from Italy to work illegally, the family takes them in. Then Catherine falls for Rodolpho, and Eddie’s protectiveness curdles into something possessive and dangerous. What follows is a betrayal that cracks open his family and his whole community.

That’s as far as we’ll go. If you don’t know the ending, don’t look it up.

ImmigrationLoyaltyDesireFamilyJusticeBelongingMasculinityThe American Dream

Miller wrote it in the 1950s, and it plays like a Greek tragedy set on the Brooklyn waterfront, with Alfieri as a one-man chorus who knows from the start how it ends. This production leans into the questions of immigration, belonging and what the American Dream costs, which feel anything but dated.

Is it a musical? No. A View From the Bridge is a drama, a straight play with no songs.

09 · The Case for Going

Why This A View From the Bridge Revival Is Notable

01

First Off-Broadway return since 1965

The last major Off-Broadway staging starred a young Robert Duvall and Jon Voight. That was more than sixty years ago.

02

A real star at the center

Sam Rockwell playing Eddie is the casting people will talk about, and he’s producing it too.

03

A stacked supporting cast

Marin Ireland and Alfred Molina bring four Tony nominations between them.

04

A proven director

Neil Pepe has directed Rockwell on Broadway before, in American Buffalo.

05

A 299-seat room

Small enough that no one is far from the stage. For a pressure-cooker play like this, that matters.

06

Thirteen weeks, then gone

No extension has been announced. The calendar is the calendar.

10 · Where

Where Is A View From the Bridge Playing in New York?

Ellen Stewart Theatre at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club 66 East 4th Street, New York, NY 10003 East Village · between the Bowery and Second Avenue

This is downtown, not the Theater District. East 4th Street between the Bowery and Second Avenue is one of the city’s great off-the-radar theater blocks, home to La MaMa (founded by Ellen Stewart in 1961) and New York Theatre Workshop across the street. It has a very different feel from Times Square: quieter, scruffier, and surrounded by some of the best casual eating in Manhattan.

Getting there: The closest subway stations are a short walk away, including Second Avenue (F) at Houston Street, Bleecker Street (6) and Broadway–Lafayette (B, D, F, M). Give yourself extra time if you’re coming from Midtown; it’s a real trip, not a quick hop. See our subway tips for shows and Uber vs subway guides.

What Is the Ellen Stewart Theatre Like?

It’s La MaMa’s main stage, with about 299 seats, a fraction of a typical Broadway house. The theater is on the second floor, with the box office on the mezzanine, and both are served by an elevator. Expect a more stripped-back, downtown experience than a Broadway lobby: this is an experimental theater club with a 60-year history, not a gilded palace. We haven’t seen the seating configuration for this production, so we’re not going to guess at best rows. Seat choices will depend on how the set is laid out.

♿ Accessibility

As currently listed by the production and TDF:

  • Wheelchair-accessible entrance on East 4th Street
  • Elevator to the box office and theater
  • Venue described as fully accessible; accessible restrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors
  • Storage for wheelchairs, canes and mobility aids
  • No luggage storage
  • No open-captioned performances scheduled yet
  • Assisted listening devices not currently available

Policies can change during a run. Confirm with the box office before you go. More in our accessibility guide.

👪 Is it OK for kids?

The production recommends A View From the Bridge for ages 12 and up, citing mature content and depictions of violence, including gunshots.

For a mature teen who’s reading Miller in school, it could be a great first serious play. For younger kids, pick something else from our Off-Broadway guide.

11 · Length

A View From the Bridge Runtime

Not yet announced

The runtime for this production hasn’t been officially posted. We won’t borrow a number from an earlier revival, since running times vary a lot by production and some stagings play without an intermission. We’ll update this section, and the quick facts above, once it’s confirmed, usually during previews.

12 · Critics

A View From the Bridge Reviews

Reviews arrive after opening night, Dec 13, 2026

Reviews for the Sam Rockwell production aren’t out yet. Critics typically publish right after opening night, and we’ll summarize what the major outlets say about this staging once they do. We’re not going to fill this space with reviews of older productions. They tell you nothing about this cast, this director or this room.
