Prudential Center Concerts: 2026 Shows, Tickets & Planning Guide
Newark’s arena sits two blocks from a train station with direct service from Manhattan. Here’s who’s playing, how to buy, where to sit, and how to get there and back without the night falling apart at the end.
Prudential Center concerts are the NYC-area arena show you can reach in about the time it takes to cross Midtown. The arena, which locals call “The Rock,” opened in October 2007 with a run of ten Bon Jovi shows, and it has been on the major-tour circuit ever since. Billboard once called it the East Coast home of K-pop.
This guide is for concert nights at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, and nothing else. Devils games and the hockey seating chart have their own guide. Below you’ll find the upcoming Prudential Center concert schedule, honest advice on buying Prudential Center concert tickets, what the night actually looks like from the train platform to the encore, and how to get back to the city afterward.

Prudential Center concert tonight? How to check
For a same-day decision, start with the Prudential Center schedule on the arena’s own event page for that date. It shows the start time and whether anything has been postponed. The broader Prudential Center events calendar mixes concerts with Devils and Seton Hall games, PWHL nights and family shows. That’s worth a look if you’re driving: when a game or family show is booked earlier the same day, the garages and streets around the arena fill up sooner.

How to Buy Prudential Center Concert Tickets
There are two real routes. Primary tickets are sold by Ticketmaster, which runs the arena’s box office. Resale tickets are seats other fans are selling, listed on verified marketplaces, including the live listings on this page. Neither is reliably cheaper. Which is better depends on the artist, the date, and what’s still left at face value when you look.
Pin down the city
Tours that play Newark often play Brooklyn, Manhattan or Long Island the same week. Make sure the listing says Prudential Center · Newark, NJ and the date you mean.
Compare final totals
A “from” price is a teaser. Take the same two seats all the way to the last checkout screen on each site and compare the total after fees.
Know what “floor” means
Floor tickets can be a standing pit, numbered seats, or both. If you need a seat, or you’re short and worried about sightlines, confirm it in the listing.
Get the tickets on your phone
Expect mobile tickets. If someone is transferring seats to you, accept them before the show day, not in the security line.
When to buy, and when waiting makes sense
For a tour that’s clearly in demand, such as a holiday-week date or a short run, buying early usually gets you the widest choice of seats. For a show that isn’t selling out, prices on resale can soften as the date gets closer, but there’s no guarantee, and the best seats rarely wait for you. Last-minute buying works best if you’re flexible about where you sit and you’re already planning to be in Newark. For a deeper look at timing, see our guides on when to buy concert tickets and finding last-minute concert tickets.
Two quick sanity checks before you pay
Seats should be listed with a section and row, and the listing should say whether the seats are together. If a deal looks far below every other listing for the same section, assume something’s off.
Prudential Center Box Office
The Ticketmaster Box Office is inside the arena near the corner of Mulberry Street and Edison Place, next to the Citizens Tower. The mailing address is 165 Mulberry Street.
Buying at the window can make sense if you live nearby and want to talk through accessible seating or a specific seat. It doesn’t guarantee better seats or a lower total than buying online, so don’t make the trip just for that. Official hours and closures: prucenter.com/box-office.
What Is a Concert Like at Prudential Center?
It’s a full-size arena show, with everything that comes with that: a big production, a big crowd, and a building that fills and empties in waves. That’s a different evening from a club or theater show. You trade intimacy for scale, and the stage design matters more than the room itself. A tour built for arenas, with screens, lights and a runway, plays to the whole building. A quieter act can feel farther away from the upper level.
What makes Newark different is the setting. You’re not fighting through Midtown or waiting for a Brooklyn transfer. You get off the train, walk two blocks, and you’re at the arena. Here’s how a typical concert night runs:
🎸 Floor energy
On a general-admission floor, the closer you want to be, the earlier you need to arrive. Plan on standing the whole show. It’s great for a band you love. It’s a long night if you’re there as somebody’s plus-one.
🪑 Seated comfort
Seats in the bowl give you a real view of the full production and a place to sit between songs. That’s why plenty of fans take a good lower-level seat over a floor spot.
Prudential Center Concert Seating: What to Know
The arena’s concert layout isn’t fixed. Most tours use an end stage, with the stage at one end and the floor and bowl facing it, but the floor plan, the stage depth and whether seats behind the stage are sold all change from tour to tour. Before you buy, look at the seat map for your specific concert. A general chart can’t show that.

Lower level, facing the stage
The 100-level sections facing the stage, or just off center, give you a clear look at the whole production without the floor crowd in front of you. For most end-stage shows, this is the safest pick.
The floor
A standing pit, reserved seats, or both. You’re closest to the artist, but on a flat floor your view depends on who’s in front of you. Read the listing to see whether it’s GA or numbered seats.
Upper level, center
The 200-level is higher and farther back, but center seats facing the stage still show you the whole design, light show included. These are usually the best-value seats on the map.
Side-stage sections
Seats along the sides put you closer than the price suggests, but at an angle, so you may lose part of the screens or the back of the stage. They’re great for watching the band, not as good for big visual productions.
Behind or beside the stage
Some tours sell limited-view or rear-stage seats. They can be fun for a bare-bones show and frustrating for a heavily staged one. The listing should say “limited view.” If it doesn’t and the section is behind the stage, ask.
Accessible seating
Accessible seats are sold through Ticketmaster or by phone at (800) 877-7575. The arena offers free wheelchair escorts, and service animals are welcome. Questions: Guest Services at (973) 757-6000.

Getting to Prudential Center From NYC
The short version: take a train to Newark Penn Station and walk two blocks. That’s the main reason Prudential Center works so well for New Yorkers. Here are the main options. Our full guide to getting to Prudential Center covers every route in more detail.
NJ Transit From New York Penn Station
Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line trains run from New York Penn Station to Newark Penn Station. Buy your ticket on the NJ Transit app or at a station machine before you board. NJ Transit adds a $5 surcharge for buying on the train. Use the NJ Transit trip planner for the night’s times, because service changes happen.
Taking PATH to Newark
PATH’s Newark line starts at World Trade Center, so Lower Manhattan riders can go straight there. From the 33rd Street line in Midtown, change at Journal Square. PATH runs 24/7, which makes it a useful backup after a late show.
Walking From Newark Penn Station
The arena is about two blocks west of the station. NJ Transit puts the walk at roughly five minutes. On a big concert night you’ll be walking with the crowd, and the crowd is going where you are.
Driving and Parking
Driving makes the most sense from elsewhere in New Jersey. From Manhattan you’re adding tunnel traffic going and a garage line leaving. If you drive, prepaid passes through the arena’s Click and Park program reserve a spot, and our parking near Prudential Center guide covers your options.
Getting back to NYC after the concert
This is the part that ruins nights, so plan it before you go:
- Look up your return train when you buy tickets. NJ Transit runs late trains toward New York, but late-night schedules thin out and change on weekends and holidays. Don’t assume.
- Know your PATH fallback. PATH runs all night. The arena’s own guide puts a late train from Newark at about 25 minutes to World Trade Center, or about 40 minutes to 33rd Street with a change at Journal Square.
- Expect a packed platform right after the encore. Thousands of people leave at once. Either beat the rush or let it clear. Waiting 20 minutes can be less stressful than squeezing onto the first train.
- Have a plan if the show runs late. Our late-night guide to getting home in NYC covers the last leg once you’re back across the river.
Transit details checked October 14, 2026, against prucenter.com/transit and NJ Transit’s Prudential Center page. Always confirm the night’s schedule at njtransit.com and panynj.gov/path before you go.
Prudential Center Bag Policy and Entry Rules
The bag rule is the one that sends people back to the car or to the locker truck. Pack for it, and the rest of entry is easy.
Oversized bag?
A locker truck outside the arena stores oversized bags and prohibited items for a fee. It’s a backup, not a plan. Packing light is faster.
Cashless inside
No cash at concessions, retail or the box office. Reverse ATM kiosks near sections 1, 14 and 125 and in the Box Office Lobby turn cash into a card with no fee.
Tickets ready
Have your mobile ticket open (and your screen brightness up) before you reach the scanner. Gate lines move faster when everyone does.
Cameras
Phones and non-professional cameras are fine under the arena’s rules. Some artists set stricter rules for their tour, so check the event page.
No re-entry
Once you’re in, you’re in, except for medical necessity. Smoking and vaping aren’t allowed inside or within 25 feet of the entrances.
Bringing kids
Anyone over 2 needs a ticket. Under-2s can sit on a parent’s lap, though some events set their own rules.
Sources: prucenter.com/entry and the Prudential Center A–Z guide, checked October 14, 2026. Event-specific rules can be stricter, so check your concert’s page the week of the show.
Where to Eat Before a Prudential Center Concert
Eat before you go through security. Arena food does the job, but it costs more, the lines are long, and you can’t leave to eat somewhere better. You have two good options. One is downtown Newark, near the arena, where you can walk to the gates. The other is the Ironbound, the Portuguese and Spanish neighborhood on the other side of Newark Penn Station, which is the classic pre-show dinner but takes a little more time.
⏱️ Quick bite
For a 7:30 start, a fast meal near the arena around 6:00 gets you to the gates when doors open, with no rushing. Good for weeknights and anyone coming straight from work.
🍷 Real dinner
A sit-down dinner needs a reservation, especially on weekends and holiday-week concert nights, when everyone books for the same hour. Allow 90 minutes plus the walk, and tell the server you have a show.
Hotels Near Prudential Center
If you live in Manhattan, you probably don’t need a hotel. The train home is short. Staying over starts to make sense in three cases:
- You’re coming from farther away. If Newark is the closest stop on the tour, staying near the arena turns a long round trip into a walk.
- It’s a late show on a night with thin service. Holiday weeks and weekend nights are when a hotel room starts to beat waiting for a late train.
- You have an early flight. Newark Airport is close, so a Newark hotel can cover the concert and the morning flight.
When you compare hotels, check the actual walk to the arena, not just the distance on a map. Hotels near Newark Penn Station are the most flexible, because the same station gets you home or to the airport in the morning. If you’d rather sleep in the city and take the train out, staying near Penn Station in Manhattan is the other smart option.
Is Prudential Center Worth It for a Concert From NYC?
For most New Yorkers, yes, and often more than people expect before they try it. The trip is easy: one train, a short ride, a two-block walk. Newark also gets tours and dates that the city venues don’t, so sometimes it’s the only local stop on the tour.
Go for it when…
- It’s your artist’s only area date, or the Newark night has better seats or prices than the city show
- The tour is built for arenas, with a big production that looks good from every level
- You’re fine with checking a train schedule and leaving on time
Think twice when…
- The same show is also at a venue around the corner from you
- It’s a late show on a holiday or weekend night and you haven’t looked up the return train
- You want a small, intimate show. An arena is never going to feel like a club.
Our advice: pick the concert, then check the return train before you buy, and book a hotel only if the train home doesn’t work. If that all lines up, Newark is an easy night out.
Prudential Center Concert FAQ
What concerts are coming to Prudential Center in 2026?
The rest of 2026 brings Journey (Oct 25), XG (Nov 14), Motionless In White (Nov 19), sombr (Nov 21), the Rock The Bells Festival (Nov 29), the Jonas Brothers (Dec 21–22) and Trans-Siberian Orchestra (Dec 26, at 3 PM and 7:30 PM). Disney Worlds Collide plays Nov 10–11. TAEMIN’s Oct 23 date is postponed. The 2027 calendar already includes Hans Zimmer, Don Omar, Nickelback, Def Leppard with Goo Goo Dolls, and Fantasia.
Where can I buy Prudential Center concert tickets?
Primary tickets for Prudential Center concerts are sold through Ticketmaster, which is the arena’s official ticketing partner, and at the arena box office. Resale tickets from other fans are listed on verified marketplaces, including the live listings on this page. Compare the full checkout price, fees included, before you choose.
Does Prudential Center have a box office?
Yes. The Ticketmaster Box Office is inside the arena near the corner of Mulberry Street and Edison Place, next to the Citizens Tower. It usually keeps weekday daytime hours and opens on weekends only when there’s an event, but hours change by season, so check prucenter.com/box-office or call (973) 757-6625 first. It’s cashless, so bring a card.
Is there a concert at Prudential Center tonight?
Check the official calendar at prucenter.com/concerts, or the full events calendar if you want to see hockey, basketball and family shows too. Our schedule on this page is a snapshot checked October 14, 2026, so for same-day plans, confirm the date and start time on the event page before you head to Newark.
What are the best seats for a concert at Prudential Center?
It depends on the show. For most end-stage concerts, lower-level seats facing the stage or just off center give the best mix of view and sound, and they keep you above the floor crowd. The floor puts you closest but can mean standing room only and a view over other fans. Upper-level center seats are usually the value pick. Always check the seat map for your specific concert, because stage setups vary.
Does Prudential Center have floor seating for concerts?
Many concerts do, but it changes show to show. The floor can be set as a general-admission standing pit, reserved seats, or a mix of both, depending on the tour’s stage design. Your ticket listing should say which one you’re buying, so read the section line before you check out.
How do I get to Prudential Center from NYC?
Take a train to Newark Penn Station, then walk about two blocks to the arena. From New York Penn Station, NJ Transit’s Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line trains stop at Newark Penn. From Lower Manhattan, PATH runs from World Trade Center straight to Newark. From 33rd Street, take PATH and change at Journal Square.
How far is Prudential Center from Newark Penn Station?
About two blocks. NJ Transit describes it as roughly a five-minute walk from Newark Penn Station to the arena. Give yourself more time on a big concert night, when the sidewalks and crossings fill up.
What is the Prudential Center bag policy?
Bags larger than 14 x 12 x 6 inches are not allowed, and neither are backpacks of any kind, large duffels, coolers or hard-sided bags. Every bag that’s allowed is hand-checked or X-rayed. Parenting bags and medically necessary bags can be exempt from the size limit but still go through X-ray. A locker truck outside the arena stores oversized bags for a fee.
What time do doors open for concerts at Prudential Center?
Arena doors generally open 60 to 90 minutes before the event starts, but it varies by show. Check your concert’s event page or ticket for the exact time, and aim to arrive before doors on a sold-out night, since screening lines at the three main gates can get long.
Is Prudential Center cashless?
Yes. The arena doesn’t accept cash at concession stands, retail stores or the box office. If you only have cash, reverse ATM kiosks near sections 1, 14 and 125 and in the Box Office Lobby turn it into a card with no transaction fee.
Is it better to take the train or drive to Prudential Center from Manhattan?
For most people coming from Manhattan, the train is easier. Newark Penn Station is two blocks from the arena, so you skip tunnel traffic and post-show garage lines. Driving can make sense if you’re coming from elsewhere in New Jersey or traveling with a group. If you drive, book prepaid parking ahead of time through the arena’s Click and Park program.
