Phish at Madison Square Garden: New Year’s Run 2026–27
Four nights at the Garden. A New Year’s Eve countdown on Dec. 31. And on Jan. 2, Phish’s 100th show at MSG.
Phish returns to Madison Square Garden for a four-night New Year’s run, Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2026 through Saturday, Jan. 2, 2027. The run includes the New Year’s Eve show on Dec. 31 and ends with Phish’s 100th Madison Square Garden performance on Jan. 2.
This guide covers Phish tickets for all four nights: how the dates differ, when the official sale opens, what to expect on New Year’s Eve, and how to plan four nights around 33rd Street. Opening night also lands on the anniversary of the band’s MSG debut, Dec. 30, 1994.
Phish MSG 2026–27 at a Glance

Phish Tickets
The biggest decision with Phish tickets for this run is which of the four nights you want. All four are at the same arena, but each one draws a different crowd and a different level of demand:
- Dec. 30 opens the run, and it’s usually the easiest of the four to get.
- Dec. 31 is New Year’s Eve, with the midnight countdown and the band’s staged NYE production. It’s the date most casual fans ask about first.
- Jan. 1 is the New Year’s Day show, usually attended by fans who are doing the full run.
- Jan. 2 is the 100th MSG show, the milestone night and the one longtime fans are watching most closely.
The official order is simple. Phish ran a fan ticket request on tickets.phish.com first, with a deadline of Monday, Oct. 12 at noon ET. The public general on-sale follows on Friday, Oct. 16 at noon ET. Single-night tickets and four-day tickets are both part of that public sale. After that, availability depends on resale, plus whatever the MSG box office still has.
A lot of people choose between one night and the whole run. One night is the straightforward choice, and for most people that means New Year’s Eve or the 100th show. Doing two or more nights is how most dedicated fans do Phish at the Garden, because the setlist changes every night and songs rarely repeat. The four-day ticket is the simplest way to cover everything if your budget allows it.
Phish tickets · Madison Square Garden · four nights. Compare every night before you buy. Demand is different across the four nights, so pricing usually is too. The ticket finder on this page lists each date separately.
Phish MSG Tickets
This page covers Phish MSG tickets for the full four-night New Year’s run, not a national Phish tour listing. If you’re searching for Phish Madison Square Garden tickets, everything here applies to Dec. 30, Dec. 31, Jan. 1 and Jan. 2 at the arena above Penn Station.
Phish MSG NYC shows are where the band’s New Year’s tradition lives. Searching Phish tickets New York this winter? The four Garden nights are the run, with fans traveling from all over for it. That’s why Phish tickets for Madison Square Garden behave differently from a typical one-night arena show. Many buyers want two, three or four nights, and the nights don’t sell or price the same way.
To choose seats by section, the Madison Square Garden seating guide breaks down every level. For the arena itself, including entrances, the box office and what’s around it, use the Madison Square Garden venue guide.
Phish MSG Dates: Dec. 30, Dec. 31, Jan. 1 & Jan. 2
The run opens on the anniversary of Phish’s first MSG show in 1994. Typically the most approachable night to get into, and still a full Phish show.
The countdown, the midnight production, and the biggest-event feel of the run. Expect the most demand and the latest night.
The first show of 2027. Mostly fans doing the full run, which makes for a relaxed, devoted room.
The finale and the milestone. A Saturday night, and the show fans will talk about for years.
Don’t assume the four nights cost the same. Demand, and therefore pricing, can be quite different from night to night.

Phish New Year’s Eve Tickets
Phish New Year’s Eve tickets are for one specific show: Thursday, Dec. 31, 2026 at Madison Square Garden. When people search for Phish NYE tickets or Phish New Year’s tickets, this is the show they mean. It’s the night with the midnight countdown and the staged production fans call the gag.
Phish NYE, Madison Square Garden: What the Night Is Like
Phish NYE at Madison Square Garden is a full event, not just another tour stop. The room is packed, people dress up, and the night runs past midnight. It’s also the hardest date in the run to get, so if Dec. 31 is the only night you want, plan for it from the Oct. 16 on-sale onward instead of waiting until December.
If MSG Phish NYE prices end up too high, Dec. 30 or Jan. 1 is the backup that still gets you the holiday-week Garden atmosphere. Looking for Phish NYE tix as a group? Check the number of seats together in your section before you commit, since NYE listings in a single section run thin.
Phish New Year’s Run at MSG
The Phish New Year’s Madison Square Garden run is four consecutive nights that start in one year and end in the next: two shows in December 2026 and two in January 2027. The countdown falls in the middle of the run, on Dec. 31, and the run ends with the 100th MSG show on Jan. 2. Phish New Year’s run tickets are sold per night or as a four-day ticket.
This is the Phish NYC tradition and one of the Garden’s longest-running holiday events. Of every Phish concert NYC gets in a year, this is the one fans plan around. Phish MSG New Year’s has its own regulars. For some fans the run is the event of the year, and they plan travel, hotels and friend meetups around it. For first-timers, one night is plenty to understand why. Phish MSG NYE gets the attention, but a lot of veterans will say the surrounding nights are just as likely to produce the moment everyone talks about later.
If you’re doing all four nights, book your hotel when you buy your tickets. Holiday-week rates near Penn Station go up fast. Our hotels near Madison Square Garden and hotels near Penn Station guides cover the closest options.
Phish’s 100th Madison Square Garden Show — Jan. 2, 2027
Saturday, Jan. 2, the fourth and final night of the run, is Phish’s 100th performance at Madison Square Garden. Phish has announced it as such, and very few acts have ever played the Garden 100 times.
That’s what makes Jan. 2 different from New Year’s Eve. NYE draws the biggest crowd for the occasion and the countdown. Jan. 2 is for the Garden itself: a 100th show at the arena where Phish has played since 1994, on the last night of the run, on a Saturday. Fans who care about Phish history will want this one, and it’s reasonable to expect strong demand for it.
The band hasn’t said whether the 100th show will include anything special, and we won’t guess. What’s certain is the number, and a run-closing Saturday night at the Garden.
Phish MSG Ticket Request
Phish sells its own first round of tickets through a fan ticket request at tickets.phish.com, which phish.com calls the fan pre-sale. For this run, the request deadline was Monday, Oct. 12 at noon ET. Fans often call it the Phish lottery, since submitting a request doesn’t guarantee tickets, but the official name is the ticket request.
If you searched “Phish pre sale,” “tickets phish com” or “phish com tickets,” this is what you’re looking for. The fan request comes first, and the public on-sale is the next chance. Check your tickets.phish.com account for request results instead of relying on secondhand reports.
When Do Phish MSG Tickets Go On Sale?
The short answer: Phish MSG tickets go on sale to the public Friday, Oct. 16 at noon ET. Be logged in and ready a few minutes early, and decide in advance which nights you want and what you’re willing to spend.
When Should You Buy Phish MSG Tickets?
NYE buyers
Dec. 31 has its own level of demand. If New Year’s Eve is the goal, the Oct. 16 on-sale is your best shot at face value, so don’t plan on waiting.
Milestone buyers
Jan. 2 matters to fans who care about the 100th show. Treat it as a high-demand night, not a backup option.
Flexible buyers
If any night works, compare all four. Dec. 30 and Jan. 1 often give you the most choice for the money.
Multi-night fans
Price out the four-day ticket against individual nights. For two or three nights, look for seats in a similar section each night so you can compare views.
Last-minute buyers
Check inventory again in the final week, but don’t assume prices will fall during a holiday run. See our last-minute concert tickets guide.
For a more general look at timing, our when to buy concert tickets guide explains how on-sales and resale usually play out.
Phish MSG Setlist
Nobody knows the Phish MSG setlist ahead of time, and anyone claiming to is guessing. Phish changes its setlist every night, and over a multi-night run the band generally avoids repeating songs. That’s a big reason fans go to more than one night. Each of the four shows will be its own thing.
Once the run starts, we’ll add verified setlists here after each night.
Phish New Year’s Eve Setlist
The Phish New Year’s Eve setlist is built around midnight. The countdown and the gag happen inside the show, so the shape of the night is different from the other three. Song choices aren’t announced and won’t be predicted here.
What Is the Phish New Year’s Eve Gag?
The Phish NYE gag is the band’s staged New Year’s Eve surprise: a theatrical production built into the show around midnight. It’s a tradition in its own right, and a big part of why NYE tickets are so sought after. The band keeps each year’s gag secret, so going in not knowing is part of the experience.
The 2026 gag has not been announced, and we won’t speculate. We’ll update this section after Dec. 31 with what actually happened.
How Long Is a Phish Concert?
There’s no fixed runtime. A Phish concert is usually two sets with a setbreak, and shows commonly run close to three hours including the break, though a long jam can stretch that. How long are Phish concerts on New Year’s Eve? Traditionally longer, since the music carries through the countdown and past midnight.
Plan for a long night and a late exit, especially on Dec. 31.
What Time Does Phish Start at MSG?
These are the times posted on phish.com’s official date pages for Dec. 30 and Dec. 31. We haven’t listed times for the January shows because we haven’t confirmed them, so check the official listing. Arena security lines are long during holiday week, so aim to arrive around doors.

Phish MSG Seating Chart
Looking at the MSG Phish seating chart, it comes down to a few choices. The floor is for dancing and being close. The side 100-level sections give the best view of the stage and the light show, which matters a lot at a Phish show. Lower 200s are a solid balance of view and price. Upper sections are the budget option and still show the full lights.
For the full Madison Square Garden seating chart, Phish fans can use our guide for section-by-section detail, including the Chase Bridge, sight lines and the seats to avoid: the Madison Square Garden seating guide.
Phish MSG Floor Tickets
Phish MSG floor tickets put you closest to the band and in the middle of the crowd. Before you buy, check whether the listing is general admission or reserved, since that decides whether you can move around or have an assigned spot. The floor is flat, so your view depends on who’s in front of you. If you want to watch the lights, you’ll get a better view from the lower bowl.
How Much Are Phish MSG Tickets?
We’re not listing specific prices, because any number would be out of date within days. How much Phish MSG tickets cost depends on a few things:
- The night. New Year’s Eve and the Jan. 2 100th show are the most likely to cost more.
- The section. Floor and lower bowl cost more than the upper levels.
- Timing. Face value at the on-sale is usually the best price available. Resale prices go up and down until showtime.
- Quantity. Finding several seats together, especially on Dec. 31, can narrow your options and raise the price.
The ticket finder on this page shows current listings for each date.
