Galileo Broadway Tickets
Searching “Galileo tickets”? Make sure it’s this one.
This page covers Galileo, the new Broadway musical at the Shubert Theatre. It isn’t Brecht’s play Life of Galileo, it isn’t the Museo Galileo in Florence, and it isn’t the 2024 world-premiere run at Berkeley Rep, which closed in 2024.
Official primary sales for Galileo Broadway tickets run through Telecharge and the Shubert Theatre box office. The ticket finder on this page shows live availability across performances, which makes it easy to line up dates and sections side by side. Prices on any marketplace can land above or below face value depending on the performance, so compare a few options before you commit.
How you should shop depends on what kind of buyer you are:
You have one specific night
Anniversary, birthday, a trip already booked. Buy once your plans are firm. Seat choice only narrows as any single performance gets closer, and if a particular section matters to you, waiting buys you nothing.
You can go any night that week
This is where you save. Pricing can swing a lot between a Tuesday 7pm, a Wednesday matinee and a Saturday 8pm. Check three or four performances before picking one.
You want Raúl Esparza, specifically
Michael Park plays Galileo at select performances, and the production hasn’t published which ones. If Esparza is the whole point, confirm with the box office before you buy.
Where to sit for Galileo
This is a big, loud rock score in a classic Broadway house, so think about the full stage picture as much as proximity. Center orchestra puts you closest to Esparza’s performance. Front mezzanine is a popular pick for staging-heavy musicals because you take in the whole stage at once, often for less than prime orchestra. Side and rear sections are where value lives if budget comes first. For sightlines, legroom and section-by-section tradeoffs, use our Shubert Theatre seating guide.
When Should You Buy Galileo Broadway Tickets?
Previews · from Nov 10
You see it first, before any reviews. Previews are still technically a work in progress, so a song or scene can change between performances. That’s part of the fun for a lot of fans.
Opening night · Dec 6
Opening nights are traditionally heavy on invited guests and press, so public availability for that one performance tends to be thin. If it’s open, expect it to price like an event.
After opening
The show is locked, the reviews are out and you know exactly what you’re buying. The right move for anyone who wants the critics’ verdict first.
December and the holidays
Galileo opens right as Midtown fills with holiday visitors. Holiday weeks often bring schedule shifts on Broadway, so double-check your exact performance time.

Finding lower-priced Galileo tickets
No rush, lottery or standing-room program has been announced for Galileo as of October 2026, and we won’t pretend otherwise. Here’s what actually works for cheap Galileo tickets right now:
- Compare performances, not just sections. The same seat can price very differently from one night to the next.
- Look at midweek and matinees. Tuesday through Thursday evenings and the Wednesday 1pm are worth checking against weekend shows.
- Go up a level. Rear mezzanine seats trade closeness for price and still give you the full staging.
- Buy singles. Going solo? Single seats can turn up in good locations that pairs can’t get.
- Watch for an official program. If Galileo adds a rush or lottery, our Broadway rush and lottery guide covers how those work.

Jeremy Kushnier
Reprising from the premiere
Javier Muñoz
Principal cast

Mainwaring, Terica Marie, Rob Marnell, Alexander Mendoza, Ramone Nelson, Matty Palmer, Chase Peacock, David Rowen, Madeleine Spacapan and Erica Sweany. Swings are Nicci Claspell, Ninako Donville, Cameron Johnson, Michal Kolaczkowski and Noah Plomgren.

Raúl Esparza Stars as Galileo
Esparza is the reason a lot of people are buying early. He originated the role at the show’s world premiere and now brings it to the Shubert, his first Broadway appearance in more than 13 years. Theater fans know him from Company and Taboo; a wider audience knows him from years on television. Either way, this is a big vocal role in a rock score, and it’s built entirely around him.
One practical note for Raúl Esparza Broadway fans: Michael Park alternates in the role at select performances. Park is a seasoned Broadway leading man, but if Esparza is the draw, check before you buy.
Joy Woods and Jeremy Kushnier in Galileo
Joy Woods plays Virginia, Galileo’s brilliant daughter. Woods earned a Tony nomination for Gypsy, and her casting gives the show a second powerhouse voice and its emotional center at home. Jeremy Kushnier plays Maffeo Barberini, Galileo’s trusted confidant who rises to power. Kushnier also played the role at the premiere, so the central friendship-turned-standoff arrives on Broadway already tested.
The creative team
Book by Emmy winner Danny Strong. Music and lyrics by Zoe Sarnak and Michael Weiner. Directed by Tony winner Michael Mayer, the director behind Spring Awakening, with choreography by Tony nominee David Neumann. Amanda Lipitz, Henry Tisch and Jordan Roth produce.
What Is Galileo the Musical About?
Galileo the musical starts with a scientist pointing a telescope at the sky and seeing something that rewrites how people understand the universe. Then the bill comes due. Galileo is summoned to Rome to defend his discoveries before the most powerful religious institution in the world, an institution facing a rebellion of its own.
The production bills itself plainly as “A Rock Musical,” and the pitch is science against faith, truth against power. Two relationships carry it: Galileo and his daughter Virginia, and Galileo and Barberini, the friend whose rise puts them on opposite sides. You don’t need to remember anything from school to follow it. This is a stage drama with a rock band, not a history lecture.
Galileo Musical Songs & Cast Recording
An official Galileo Broadway cast recording has not been announced, and the production hasn’t published a full song list for Broadway. What we do know is the sound: an original rock score by Zoe Sarnak and Michael Weiner, written for a lead who can really sing it. If a Galileo musical soundtrack or cast album is announced, we’ll add it here.
How Long Is Galileo on Broadway?
The Galileo Broadway run time is about 2 hours and 40 minutes, including one intermission, and it can vary slightly between performances. That’s a full evening. On a 7pm night you’re out around 9:40, which still leaves time for a late drink or a relaxed train home.
Is Galileo Appropriate for Kids?
Galileo is recommended for ages 10 and up. The story is a power struggle between a scientist and religious authority, played as a dramatic rock musical, so it’s a better fit for tweens and teens than younger kids. A history or science fan around 12 is close to the ideal younger audience member. For other options, see our best Broadway shows for kids.

Galileo Broadway Reviews
There are no Galileo Broadway reviews yet. Critics review the official opening, so expect the first Galileo musical review wave around December 6, 2026. We’ll summarize what critics say here once they publish.
You may find reviews from the show’s 2024 world premiere at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Those covered an earlier version of the musical. Broadway productions usually change a fair amount between a regional premiere and opening night in New York, so treat those as production history, not a verdict on what’s playing at the Shubert.

Galileo at the Shubert Theatre puts you at 225 West 44th Street, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, right on Shubert Alley in the heart of the Theater District. The closest subways are Times Square–42nd Street (1, 2, 3, 7, N, Q, R, W and S) and 42nd Street–Port Authority (A, C, E), each a short walk away.
